EXCEPTIONALLY ACCURATE METERING SYSTEM

The Valmar 246 features 4 metering roller sections which can be fitted with a 28 groove or 12 groove roller to provide a wide range of application rates. The 4 sections can be controlled using an in-cab electric clutch control monitor to turn half sections of each boom on or off. This reduces waste and ensures that granular product is only being applied where intended, and helping to lower input costs with reduced overlap.  

The metering sections are also easily calibrated to ensure that accurate rates are being achieved by the Valmar 246. Simply use the quick release to drop the Venturi manifold and install calibration funnels which can be used to meter and weigh the product application rate. 

METERING AND FAN DRIVE OPTIONS TO SUIT YOUR NEEDS

The Valmar 246 is available with multiple drive options that give the machine different capabilities to suit many applications. Along with the standard ground drive system, the 246 allows for an optional ISOBUS controlled metering. This allows for the ability to implement variable rate when hooked up to an appropriate third-party display unit.
An optional 9 HP gas engine fan drive is also available, making it possible for the 246 to be attached to a truck and used for application, bypassing the need for tractor-supplied hydraulics to power the fan. 

SUPERIOR HOPPER DESIGN

The 60 cubic foot capacity hopper on the Valmar 246 is designed for durability. The high-density polyurethane material stands up to abrasive material while allowing producers to visually monitor the hopper’s product level from the cab. The weather-tight lid keeps moisture out of the hopper and keeps the granular herbicide, fertilizer, or seed dry and flowing through the metering system efficiently. Cleaning out the hopper is now easier than ever with the convenient hopper-bottom slide gates, which allow the rollers to be removed for cleaning.

RUGGED BOOM DESIGN

The 246 features a 60-foot boom width allowing growers to cover more acres in less time. The 246 can also operate at speeds up to 20 MPH, while maintaining accuracy and low rate application.
The 60-foot boom also comes with an upgraded suspension that maintains its self-leveling abilities, allowing it to follow the contour of the field ensuring accurate application in hilly terrain. For safety, the boom also features breakaway tips to help minimize damage that may occur from striking an obstacle in the field.

SEED, FERTILIZER, HERBICIDE

The 56 series granular metering system accurately and gently handles seed, fertilizer and or herbicide, at a wide range of application rates. These machines are ideal for seeding cover crops, low rate herbicide application. The 56 series stainless steel and plastic metering components standup to fertilizer without any risk of corrosion.
